A Message from Linda

All,

Thank you so much for the privilege of working with your teams today! I loved your participation in the opening keynote as we thought about 5 Powerful Areas in our world (Purpose, Mind, Connection, Spirit, and Vessel) through the lens of Adventure, Vibrancy, Exploration, Challenge.

There’s a whole lot of information in here to help you take next steps, find resources, and how to share with your teams in your world.

Resources

Books (Don’t forget your libraries!)

We referenced Dare to Lead by Brené Brown and The Dance of Connection by Harriet Lerner along with Dancing with an Octopus by Benedict Larkey.  I also recommend Radical Candor by Kim Scott, Thanks for the Feedback by Douglas Stone and Sheila Heen, and The Mindful Self-Compassion Workbook by Kristin Neff. I’m always happy to suggest more!

TEDTalks, Podcasts or Video

Netflix
The Call to Courage with Brené Brown.

This is family friendly though likely not engaging/interesting to small peeps! My husband loved this special and it was the first time he really connected with her work

Podcast
Unlocking Us with Brené Brown

This is amazing and new. She also started a Dare to Lead podcast at the end of the last year. Please note, she has an exclusive agreement with Spotify so you will only find the podcasts there.

TED Talk
Get Comfortable with Being Uncomfortable, Luvvie Ajayi

Almost a TED Talk
Radical Candor by Kim Scott

Daring Leader Assessment
A complimentary assessment (and available only to you, it’s not stored/archived) to explore your Daring Leadership style. You can also use this with your team and then talk about the 4 Skillsets of Courage.

Dare to Lead Hub
This site is the perfect place to go next. This includes downloads of some of the presentation art, downloadable workbooks, and has a section on resources to use with your teams including read-along workbooks for the entire book, structures for using it work with a team, worksheets and more. Have fun there! If you want to use this with your team, this is the place to find handouts, read-a-long workbooks and more.

This is where you will find:

  • Global Read A Long Videos led by Dr. Brown for using with your team or as an individual
  • Book Club Structures: How to lead a book club, how to break up the book, questions for leading conversations
  • BRAVING Trust: How to bring the 7 letters into your conversations and building trust. You’ll find ways to help individuals work on the acronym and how they want to focus, and you’ll find a process for taking a team through it

Look for other information on giving engaged feedback, having value discussions, and more.

  • RSE Shorts (Small cartoon videos but not particularly child friendly with content/context): Empathy, Blame (These are available on YouTube so you can use them with teams!)

Thank you so much for attending and the exceptional levels of participation we experienced. It is my privilege to be able to work with you!
